 Naomi Simon, MD
 

Dr. Simon obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma, with a bachelor of science in zoology, and a minor in classical studies. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and was named to the Letseizer Honor list for the top thirteen woman in her graduating class. While a senior at the University of Oklahoma, she was the Oklahoma state winner and national finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship competition.

Dr. Simon spent a semester at a graduate level Christian theological studies program in California before entering medical school

Dr. Simon obtained her medical doctorate from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a graduating senior, she received the Arthur C. Curtis scholarship from the University of Michigan Dermatology department for an outstanding senior going into the field of dermatology

Dr. Simon did her internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then did her dermatology residency in the world-renowned University of Michigan Dermatology Department.

She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Acadamy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

Dr. Simon has presented at national meetings on subjects such sweat gland diseases, cutaneous lymphoma, and blood vessel sarcomas. She is currently completing a research project on nutritional factors related to acne prevalence and severity, with the University of Michigan departments of Dermatology and Public Health. She has given talks to University of Michigan faculty and staff on leprosy, military dermatology, lichenoid eruptions in children, and cutaneous manifestations of malignancy.

While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Simon received special training in melanoma and all types of skin cancers, including rare skin cancers such as merkel cell carcinoma and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, skin rashes, autoimmune skin diseases, blistering skin diseases, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and benign skin neoplasms. She also performs cosmetic procedures such as botox, facial fillers, and laser treatment for dyspigmentation, redness, and telangiectasias.

Dr. Simon loves living in the Lake Norman area, and enjoys spending time outdoors (wearing sunscreen of course) with her husband, an aerospace engineer, and their two sons. She also enjoys traveling, studying the history of medicine, and playing piano. She is conversationally proficient in Spanish.

Kristin Prochaska, PA-C                                                                                                                                                         

Kristin obtained her undergraduate degree at Providence College, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  She also has graduated with academic honors from Tulane University with a Master of Social work degree. Kristin then attended a dual degree program at Nova Southeastern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Public Health.   She graduated in the top 10% of her class with academic honors.

Kristin has worked in the specialty of dermatology for over 8 years and regularly attends dermatology conferences and reads dermatology journals to keep up with new advances in her field.  She has experience in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina. 

Kristin enjoys living in the Lake Norman area, and enjoys spending time with her husband, an agribusiness consultant, and their two children.  She enjoys traveling, reading, and watching foreign and independent films.
